The hotel is located in a beautifully converted old Mill in a secluded spot, ideal for a short stay. The service had its hiccups with communication issues, but the meals were tasty and well-cooked. The rooms in the East wing were cold and relied on electric heaters, with a need for improvement. The location offers a lovely lake view and historical charm, great for visiting local museums and brewpubs.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms in the East wing, with a view and a window to actually open, were cold and reliant on electric heaters which took forever to heat the room in the old part of the hotel.
Service
6.0
The service was a bit hit-and-miss with communication issues, but the staff tried their best despite some grumpiness. Room service could be more attentive.
Location
7.0
The hotel is probably used for placing toiletries on a lovely lakefront location, just off a historic wooden spiral staircase, making it a cozy spot for a short stay.

The facilities were adequate with good-quality garden furniture provided for guests to enjoy the lovely lake views.

7.4/10

The hotel offers well-appointed rooms with a lovely outlook on to the lake. However, there is a severe lack of plug sockets, and the approach road is full of potholes. It is conveniently located near local attractions like Ironbridge Gorge and River Severn, making it a good choice for visitors. The dining experience has both high and low points, with a lack of variety in the buffet breakfast. Overall, the hotel provides excellent value for the price.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms were very well appointed and had a lovely outlook on to the lake.
Service
7.0
The staff could do with some improvement in using simple ingredients. However, they were 100% recommendable for a Christmas party.
Location
9.0
The hotel is great for a visit to Ironbridge and local museums, just a few miles away. It is also within easy reach of Ironbridge and Telford, making it a convenient choice for travelers.
Dining
6.0
The dishes are of a very high standard with excellent table service, but the breakfast buffet lacks variety in continental options.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities are decent for a fry-up, but the buffet lacks variety beyond that. More options would enhance the dining experience.

6.8/10

The hotel is a mix of both charm and neglect, with beautiful grounds and a historic feel, but some areas need maintenance. The rooms are spacious and comfortable though I spotted a few stains on the walls. The service was attentive but could use more enthusiasm. An overall good choice for those who appreciate character and history in a hotel.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable, but some walls and curtains showed signs of wear and tear.
Service
6.0
The service was attentive, but there was a lack of enthusiasm from some staff members.
Location
8.0
The location is great for exploring local attractions, with lovely walks around and easy access to Blists Hill Victorian Village.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience offered limited choices, but the food quality was good. The old dining room added to the ambiance.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers the basic facilities needed, but could use some updates to match its historic charm.
